Tumble Classes
Toddler Tumble:
These 45-minute classes are the 1st step for your little athlete to start the learning process of all things tumble and fun. These classes are offered to children ages 3-5 years of age. Activities include incorporating all aspects of tumbling such as coordination drills, listening skills, fundamentals of stretching, gym safety, and basic body positions for pre beginner littles, as well as other activities to help with Motor Skills. These classes will help your child learn all the basic skills of tumbling while encouraging good behavior and boosting their self-confidence!
Recreational Tumble Classes:
These classes run 55 minutes for ages 5 and up, each class will start with a warmup routine, incorporate drills for skills, and end with conditioning to build strength. Rec classes meet once per week with no contract to participate.
Beginning Tumble (Level 1):
The Beginning Tumble Classes are offered to those ages 5 and up with little to no experience in the sport. Beginners will concentrate on forward & backward rolls, headstands & handstands, cartwheels, round offs, bridge kickover, and walkovers. These athletes start to learn new vocabulary that identifies skill specifics as well as varying approaches to skills, strength training, and drills to focus on safety and proper technique. FUNdamentals First is very important to IEA and these athletes will enjoy learning in our active class environment.
Intermediate Tumble (Level 2):
Intermediate athletes will work on additional skills that build from level 1 fundamentals and must have consistent beginning level skills to join. Intermediate athletes will work on the back handspring (BHS) fundamentals, incorporating the BHS to connection skills such as hand stand snap down BHS, back walkover BHS, and round off BHS.
Advanced Tumble (Level 3/4):
Advanced athletes must have consistent level 2 skills to be considered for this class. These athletes will begin connecting series BHS while working on progression skills including punch fronts, aerials, step outs, back tucks, and layouts. Advanced tumbling classes will have more advanced drills for skills with attention on consistency and proper technique as these higher-level skills require focus on training to promote safety to our athletes.
Elite Tumble (Level 5/6):
Elite Tumble is the highest level of tumbling that is offered recreationally. The Elite class covers more advanced skills including front handspring fronts, fulls, standing fulls, doubles, whip through to full, and combinations to fulls. Athletes must have perfected all advanced level skills to begin the elite level tumbling class.
